Greenville Country Club is located approximately 10 miles west of Wilmington, Delaware in the rolling hills of Northern Delaware. The Clubhouse building was originally the residence of Eugene du Pont and was the centerpiece of his 220-acre estate. The residence and 17 acres of surrounding land were purchased in 1961 by an enterprising group of families who pooled their resources and energies to form the Greenville Country Club.
From those austere beginnings, the Club has grown to include eight Har-Tru tennis courts terraced down the beautiful hillside, one all weather tennis court, two indoor tennis courts, four platform tennis courts and a large swimming pool.
The beautiful Clubhouse is situated on one of the highest points in Delaware. The building offers the perfect ambiance for formal dining and entertaining and is the site of many weddings and other celebrations during the year.
Greenville supports a full calendar of social and athletic activities each year ranging from formal dinner dances to informal tennis and "paddle" parties, all of which are planned and hosted by Club Members. In keeping with its family orientation, the Club also sponsors numerous activities for juniors.
